Before beginning her academic career in Theology, Jasmin Mausolf completed vocational training in the field of biotechnology. Coming from a Catholic region of Bavaria, she was always interested in ecumenism and studied protestant theology at the Reutlingen School of Theology. Following this, she completed the Master of Religion and Culture at the Faculty of Theology at the Humboldt University of Berlin. Her Master’s thesis focused on the Jewish Philosopher Emmanuel Levinas.

She has spent extended periods overseas, including in Switzerland, Jordan (University of Petra) and Egypt (Culture Office of the Goethe Institute in Alexandria). She also has strong contacts to the Eastern Balkans, especially Macedonia.
